…the cottage is a cool place to hang, after a day in the hills
About 4kms by road from Half Way Rock (which is where you climb up to the top of Carters Grind and just up from the Double Gates) you will find Brown Hare Cottage. A musterers hut in a past life it is now a place where riders can rest their weary heads and aching legs after a day exploring the trails of Matangi Station MTB…or where you can crack open a couple of cold ones and pore over the trail map sussing out the adventure for the following day.
Either way, BHC has all you need for a bike-cation. It’s simple but it has views in spades and a remoteness that allows you to focus on just ‘being’.

$250 per night - (min 2 nights) irrespective of the number of people staying (max 4 ) Additional campers are not permitted

Check out: 11am (we’re pretty flexi if there are no guests booked in after you so ask us when you arrive because we know you'll be keen on a morning ride in the park)

Please leave the cottage as you found it. all items need to be cleaned and put away ready for next guests.
Please respect it as you would your own home
Please stay within the area of the cottage - it is located within a working farm. Driveways, houses and sheds are out of bounds
Please, no parties, pets or smoking
No camping for mates who maybe visiting.

At the end of your stay please leave the place as you found it. Ready for the next guests. Please wash up and tidy up, put everything away including dishes;
Give the cottage a sweep and mop; please place all the rubbish in the wheelie bin provided.
